dktherapy is a comfortable therapy centre, with three treatment rooms, one of which is on the ground floor. I offer appointments between 10am and 5pm on weekdays, though I can also arrange to see clients outside of these times.

I am primarily a physical therapist, using a blend of the Bowen Technique and the Emmett Technique to make rapid and lasting changes to pain levels and range of movement. This approach is very helpful in dealing with issues such as neck or shoulder pain, back pain, injuries to legs or arms, breathing difficulties and headaches. An appointment typically takes 30-50 minutes, during which time I can work on several different issues at once and most clients will experience a noticeable difference in their levels of pain or restriction during the first treatment. For your comfort, the majority of treatment will be performed over light clothing.

I also am trained in Counselling and Neuro Linguistic Programming, and use these skills, together with Reiki and EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) to help those who suffer from stress, anxiety or phobias.

By combining all these skills, I can also help to alleviate symptoms of ME, MS and Parkinsons.

My training, work experience and any achievement

During an extremely varied working life, I have worked in Management in Banks, retail and the public health sector, as well as managing Drugs Rehabilitation Units in several prisons.

After receiving my Advanced Diploma in Counselling in 1994, my first training in Complementary Therapies was in 1998, when I took levels I and II of Usui Reiki and learnt the NADA 5 point Auricular Acupuncture system for stress management and help with addictions.

I qualified as a Bowen Therapist with the European College of Bowen Therapists (ECBS) in 2000, an Emmett Technique Therapist in 2008 and as a Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) in 2010.

I have been an active member of the relevant professional bodies and served as Vice Chair of the Bowen Therapists European Register (now BTPA) for two years 2001-2003. I have worked as a therapist in Mauritius and have taught therapies in the UK and Ireland, as well as managing all the Emmett Technique courses in the UK and Ireland between 2008 and 2011.
