It may be that life is getting on top of you, and it may feel that there is no one to turn to help sort things out. Talking to me can help..
I am a fully qualified psychotherapist offering one to one integrative psychotherapy in Widcombe, Bath (covering BA1 and BA2), for young people, teenagers and adults. My integrative training means that I have studied a number of therapeutic techniques and I aim to use the ones which will be best suited to you and what you feel comfortable with. I create a friendly, kind and safe environment to allow you to work through the issues that you may have, whilst feeling supported, valued and heard. I can help you with anxiety, generalised anxiety disorder, depression, relationship issues, phobias, family issues and other issues.
My training, work experience and any achievement
MA and Dip HIP Integrative Psychotherapy, Middlesex University
This is an in-depth seven year training which covered a huge range of psychotherapeutic approaches, plus included in-depth Mental Health placements in Psychiatric hospitals, seven years therapy myself, and 450+ hours minimum client work.
Diploma in Eye Movement Integration.
This is additional training which I am undertaking in order to offer more specific trauma based healing. The Eye Integration technique allows trauma to be effectively recontextualised.
I also work in the NHS at the Royal United Hospital in Bath as a psychotherapist specialising in long term chronic conditions so I have particular expertise in this area. If you have diabetes, CFS, fibromyalgia or any other condition then I can offer you an experienced approach. Further Information
How It Works
Normally we would start with an introductory session to see if you feel comfortable talking to me (which is really important), and then we would decide together a weekly time to meet for 50 minutes, and how many weeks might work best for you. I can offer both short term focussed work, and longer term in depth work, depending on what you need.
Our sessions together are a collaborative treatment based on the relationship that you and I will have. I would ask you to talk about what is going on for you, and I would provide a supportive environment that allows you to talk openly with someone who’s objective, neutral and nonjudgmental. You and I would work together to identify and change the thought and behaviour patterns that are keeping you from feeling your best. This can involve going through how childhood patterns of relating are affecting how you relate to others now.
By the time you’re done, you will not only have solved the problem that brought you in, but you will have learned new skills so you can better cope with whatever challenges arise in the future.
