My recommendation for this practitioner is based on Will’s natural ability to listen and comfort. Despite not having a formal session with Will I was unsure about how to describe my problem and why it had come about. A sudden change in myself, anxiety about University regarding completion of work, generally worry about deadlines which affected my sleeping, eating and attitudes. Will understood my problem where he followed with sound advice which I felt helped me think carefully about this change and how it fits in with the big picture. My before, anxiety and worry was not so significant after sound advice and willingness to discuss further. If your criteria is for an effective communicator and supporter Will ticks all the boxes! I started seeing Will because I was getting extremely depressed about work. It was so exhausting that when I got home I just wanted to be left alone, so I’d put something on the TV, zone out and not accomplish any of the things I wanted to in life. I’d have moments where I’d get inspired and start something, but it always petered out before I got anywhere. During the first few sessions we mostly dealt with improving how I feel about work and my capacity to enjoy it, and on setting myself achievable, motivational goals for my personal pursuits. This worked and quite quickly I found that I was making progress with my personal pursuits, and feeling better in general I certainly wasn’t getting depressed by work any more. I was getting very bored with it, but it wasn’t getting me down or stopping me from enjoying my life outside. After this, I still wasn’t completely able to focus on getting the most out of life, so we moved on to deeper, personal issues like the fear of failure and making excuses for myself. This, for me, has been extremely transformative. We essentially eliminated the need to be afraid, the need to feel sad, alongside other prohibitive emotions, and replaced them with happier counterparts. This means that now, when in a certain situation I may before have felt stressed, I now simply see how that would make me stressed, and I can laugh, or stay calm and deal with the problem. Will taught me how to see through my conscious minds’ defenses, the blocks it puts up against personal progress, and understand better my subconscious’ emotion and happiness. Overall this has made me a much better, more mindful person, and more true to myself. I’m more in control of my thoughts and responses now and able to manipulate my mind effectively. I’m still making good progress in my personal life, my job isn’t getting me down, and the future looks great! I’m actually excited about it, which is new for me! I’ve made big changes in terms of where I’m headed, and am about to start studying at University for a new career. In my personal relationships it’s made big splashes, especially with regards to my parents and other family, who I feel much closer with now and spend more time around. Every day I end up revisiting negative memories and inadvertently changing my responses to them. Events that once upset me I now understand, and they make me feel happy knowing that I have learnt from them. Memories of myself depressed or stressed make me chuckle at how silly it all was, and I owe it all to Will! So, Will, thank you so very much!
