I am an Accredited Registered Psychotherapist, CBT Practitioner & Qualified Counselling Supervisor with 8 years experience and over 3000 hours superivised clinical practice. I run a private practice from my home in Bebington on the Wirral.

I work with;
Individuals, Couples and Groups, from Teenagers through to Older Adults

I have spent much of my career working in the supporting field, in a range of different roles. I have a passion about the well being of people. My model is broadly humanistic, I believe that the therapeutic alliance and relationship is key to helping a person to grow and make positive changes for themselves. That said, I also believe that education is a factor that can assist in empowering individuals to meet their full potential. I work with a huge variety of conditions and am able to tailor therapy to suit the individual needs of the client.

Like I have mentioned, I have a strong passion for education, historically I led parenting programmes for struggling families with young children, later in my career I returned to the family support arena, working with esteem and confidence issues in the parents. The focus around the assumption that happier parents make for happier children. Currently I am a lecturer at a Further Educational College where I teach on a range of different Counselling and CBT programmes up to qualification Level 5. This is something I find very rewarding.

My work experience includes;

• 4 years experience Primary Care Counsellor
• 7 years experience as a Lecturer in Counselling studies
• 10 years experience in Family support and Outreach services.
• 11 years experience in education and training around mental health and wellbeing

I am able to work with focus and within frameworks agreed by both organisation and client. I have a good knowledge of and network with other support sources and agencies in the area including Primary care services and Social Care. I have good experience of working with child protection which has required assessing, supporting and being involved with care planning for children in vulnerable situations, working preventatively.

To Date I have accrued over 3000 hours of supervised clinical practise which includes work as a Counsellor and as a CBT Practitioner. I have achieved accreditation from the BACP & I am currently working towards senior accreditation. I actively use my spare time to further my academic understanding of my work and to consolidate my therapeutic practise.

I do not have wheelchair access. There are three small steps leading up to the property and therapy room is situated on the ground floor.
