About Dawn White / The Happiness Concern Mbacp
Hello, I’m Dawn at The Happiness Concern; I’d like to welcome you to my profile…
I understand how hard the first step can be to contact someone for help, you are probably feeling vulnerable at this time and worried about picking up the phone to contact someone. You need to feel confident that who you choose to help you, is appropriately trained and qualified, and is someone who you feel comfortable with, and can trust.
I am a fully qualified integrative counsellor, and have extensive experience working in the private, and public sector. I provide therapy to people from all different walks of life, and have helped people come to terms with difficult life events, and gain a clearer understanding of themselves, enabling them to make positive changes and move forward in their life.
I have a warm, positive and practical down to earth approach, providing a blend of therapeutic approaches, tailoring the therapy to suit you as an individual. Using different approaches appropriately and at the right time will enable you to quickly start to gain benefit from the therapy process.
I aim to provide a safe and comfortable environment, which is private and confidential where you can relax and take time out from your life to explore and discuss the concerns that are troubling you. Sometimes I may offer you a different perspective, or suggestion that enables a deeper exploration of the issue or challenge you are dealing with, which sometimes provides a point for self-reflection encouraging clearer understanding and change to start!
I make myself available and open to engage you in a relationship which will develop new capacities of thought for you, personal growth and understanding.
Every person is unique and that there are times in life where they need a supporting professional relationship to help them through life’s challenging, difficult and distressing times.
I aim to help you by increasing your resilience, understanding, and self - belief whilst identifying and cultivating your inner resources and strengths that may have become depleted by negative life experiences.
You have the right to choose more resourceful beliefs that are not limiting you in moving forward in your life, and I believe you don’t have to be stuck with unresourceful beliefs that are no longer working for you.
There is an abundance of life paths for you to create and follow and it would be a privilege to work with you as a counsellor.
I look forward to meeting you…..

Work Experience
Qualified in 2001 as an Integrative Counsellor, blends different approaches, as I believe that there is not one single therapeutic approach that can meet the needs of every client.I select different approaches and theories to enable a person to move forward in their lives.
Voluntary sector – Counsellor for clients undertaking a Drug Rehab Programme
Voluntary sector - counsellor for domestic violence programme for male and female clients.
Worked as a counsellor in NHS settings – GP Practices
I also provide counselling for couples and relationships, helping them move forward as individuals and as a couple. When I meet a couple for the first time, I aim to engage with them in a productive and enhancing way, listening and tailoring my approach to enable them to make the right step towards leading a more satisfied resourceful life.
Additionally I provide more than anger management for people, male or female that are struggling in their life and relationships with issues of anger. I work with an empathic anger management model and theory, which enables my client to identify, and understand the root causes of their anger, whether this is expressed unheathly towards themselves or others. This approach is not just about looking at the behaviours and thoughts around anger or rage, but to also allow a genuine and safe expression of their pain and heal any underlying, unresolved trauma.
