About Julie Frith
My name is Julie Frith and I have 15 years experience in psychotherapy and counselling. I trained and qualified at the University of East Anglia. I subsequently worked in the University Counselling Service. Following that I worked for a national Mental Health charity as Psychological Therapies Manager. I now work solely in private practice.
I am a psychotherapist registered with both of the main professional psychotherapy bodies, UKCP and BACP. This means that you can be sure I have had an extensive training and that I subscribe to the ethical codes of both of these organisations.
My work is confidential and no one will be told that you have contacted me. The only exception to this is when someone is at serious risk of harm, but I would always endeavour to inform a client before this is done.
I provide an initial exploratory appointment which can help you to discuss the problem or issue that concerns you and provide you with an opportunity to decide whether counselling and psychotherapy is for you.
My training, work experience and any achievement
Counselling through the therapeutic relationship can help you understand and resolve problems you may be experiencing within yourself and your relationships.
At different times throughout our lives we may find we are troubled and that coping with our problems is more than we can bear. We may not see a way through, an easy solution or understand what it is we are experiencing.
It can become very difficult to deal with these things on our own. Psychotherapy and counselling can give you the opportunity to support, challenge and understand your situation and your feelings and the way you cope with them.
It may be a long term problem that you have been struggling with for most of your life such as low self esteem, a sense of meaninglessness, a lack of confidence, obsessions, sexuality, depression, relationships, anxiety, maybe your life changed and you feel destabilized and uncertain of your ability to get through. Psychotherapy and counselling can help.
You can expect to experience a sensitive and empathic relationship and feel safe to explore your problems and concerns. You will be respected, accepted and will not be judged. Further Information
Each therapy session lasts 50 mins, usually weekly. The duration of how long therapy will continue is something we will discuss at the initial appointment.
