For some of us life’s journey does not run as smoothly as we may like. If you are suffering from generalised anxiety, stress or depression relating to work or relationships, simple family issues or separation and divorce then counselling is an opportunity for you to make a positive change to your life. If you are struggling it it can be good to talk.

I provide a confidential, non-judgemental environment for individuals and couples to explore these sometimes difficult feelings and emotions, working in an integrative way I will tailor my counselling style to suit your needs. Offering you insights into issues that may have arisen from the past or present, help you recognise how this affects you in the here and now and focus on changing the negative thoughts and behaviours into more positive ones. This can bring positive changes to your decision making and actions, which can enable you to develop a greater understanding of yourself and how you relate to others. It helps you to consider the changes you may wish to make in order to help yourself and to make those changes with the support of an ongoing therapeutic relationship.

I am qualified to post graduate diploma level as a counsellor and psychotherapist and a fully registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I am committed to working within these ethical boundaries. I work in the Newport area which is easily accessible from the surrounding areas such as Cardiff, Caerphilly and Cwmbran. There is plenty of parking.

I currently work for a local drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre supporting clients in the Gwent area. This has given me extensive knowledge of numerous counselling issues including addiction, anger management, bereavement, depression, eating disorders, anxiety, OCD, stress and relationship issues.

In my capacity working within the Private Healthcare sector I have worked with some of the UK’s most prevalent bariatric surgeons. My first hand knowledge of Gastric Band and Gastric Bypass surgery means that I can offer empathy and true understanding to anyone thinking of having these procedures. This can be an extremely emotional and confusing time where by counselling can offer you some clarity and peace of mind, allowing you to make an informed decision.

I am committed to keeping up with my continued learning and attend seminars and courses to further my experience in the field of counselling and psychotherapy. This ensures I work within the ethical boundaries of the BACP and promotes a safe and ethical environment for my clients.

I adhere to the BACP guidelines for practice, which includes regular supervision and I have professional liability insurance.
