About Brighter Futures Counselling
Welcome to Brighter Futures Counselling, my name is Angie.
I qualified in 2007 as an Integrative Counsellor (CBT, Person-Centred and Psychodynamic), acquiring the Post Graduate Diploma in Therapeutic counselling at UWCN. I draw strongly on CBT and Mindfulness based Cognitive Therapy, both recommended by NICE (National Institute of Clinical Excellence) as proven approaches to work with depression, stress and anxiety.
I have been working as a Counsellor for over 10 years. Prior to counselling, my experience included work as a User Involvement Development Project for a Mental Health Project and a Smoking Cessation Specialist aswell as extensive work in the homelessness field.
I believe that counselling or therapy can help you to make more sense of yourself and the world, help you make changes if you want to and increase your sense of worth and well-being.
I work in a way that is respectful, warm and accepting. We always go at your pace and hold regular reviews throughout the sessions to check we are doing ok and to check you are getting from counselling what you need.
