Pam Newbury has been in practice since 2006 and has a fanstastic track record in dealing with stress, anxiety depression and insomnia in all its forms. Pam is a highly experienced, sympathetic and insightful therapist. She specializes in treating stress, anxiety, depression, and insomnia, in all its forms. She will help you to make changes in your life, to stop worrying and feel better. Whatever it is that worries you - your weight, not sleeping, stress at work, phobias, negative thinking, IBS, bad habits - nail biting, hair pulling, teeth grinding - lack of confidence or self esteem, chronic pain - Pam has helped someone like you in the past.
She takes a very practical, common sense approach, using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, relaxation and other established psychotherapeutic methods. Her approach is solution focused - looking at changing how you feel and behave right now - but Pam is also trained to explore the causes of your difficulties and to help you to understand why you feel as you do. She sees many clients who have tried many different therapists already, and also frequently treats other therapists. Her own website contains many five star reviews (all independently verified) showing how successful her methods are.
Pam will explain to you why you feel anxious, why your thoughts race and why your body gets physical symptoms (such as sweating, pounding heart, tense muscles, feeling restless and fidgety, "butterflies" in your stomach) when you’re anxious. Most importantly she will teach you ways of overcoming your anxiety.

My training, work experience and any achievement
Pam holds a BA Honours Degree in Psychology and Philosophy, gained from from Manchester University in 1988, and the Diploma in Hypnotherapy (passed with distinction). The Diploma is the highest level of qualification open to hypnotherapists in the UK. Pam is registered with the National Council for Hypnotherapy.
She also holds full professional indemnity insurance.
Before training as a hypnotherapist Pam practised for 16 years as a solicitor, specializing initially in divorce and then in commercial property, both extremely demanding, competitive and stressful roles. She has specialist knowledge of work related stress and of stress following relationship breakdown.
Pam has an excellent record of successfully dealing with anxiety, stress, emotional problems, weight loss, eating disorders,
phobias and habit stopping. Her success rate in dealing with insomnia is second to none.
She has worked with clients ranging from 7 to 84 years old; clients travel from all over the UK to see her.
