About Jennifer Pennington
I have been in the counselling sector for a number of years working in and around Manchester. During my time I have experienced a wide range of clients. I have worked for a few counselling agencies over the years, with my latest one being a leading mental health organisation working with clients who have experienced mainly difficulites in Anxiety, Depression, Addiction, Bereavement, Sexual Abuse, Emotional Abuse, Anger management, Neglect, Post-Traumatic Stress, OCD, Relationship Difficulties and Schizophrenia.
Other theraputic models which I intergrate into my Person Centred Counselling when needed are CBT and NLP.
What is Counselling?
Counselling is a form of talk therapy, usually held in a 1-2-1 setting. A place where you can share and explore at ease and confidentially. Going for counselling can seem like a terrifying experience if you have never been before. As a Person Centred Counsellor, i offer you qualities such as, having a non judgemental approach so you can feel at ease and share any concerns or difficulties that you may be experiencing, without fear of being judged. Along with these qualities, good use of listening and reflective skills are used to help you gain the most out of your experience, along with other counselling skills which are used, depending on your reasons for counselling, which are tailored to meet your needs.
Counselling helps you to feel settled, promotes self awareness and increases confidence.
