About Journey 2 Serenity
Life can throw up some real struggles that we may not understand or feel able to cope with. Fear of judgement or the effect on our loved ones can stop us from being able to talk about our deepest concerns and anxieties. Our relationships can suffer under the strain and we can be left feeling isolated and alone. We sometimes just don’t feel like ’ourselves’ and can’t make sense of our behaviours, thoughts and cycles, I help you to explore your world more intensely and support you to find your answers and make changes.
I make no judgement on you or what has brought you to counselling and provide a safe space where these issues can be explored, your deepest thoughts and needs expressed and to bring confidence and control back into your life.
I believe the most important aspect of counselling is building a trusting and safe relationship, if you are feeling depressed or anxious, struggling to cope with your feelings, are having relationship difficulties or have undergone a recent life change or loss, counselling can provide a safe, confidential place to talk about your feelings and help to make sense of them.
Taking that first step can be daunting and finding the right counsellor can be difficult, I would encourage you to view the first session as an opportunity for us to meet with each other and see if we are well-matched.
My training, work experience and any achievement
I see clients at my private practice in Taplow. I have also worked with The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead as a counsellor for a Youth and Community Counselling Charity as well as working within a Substance Misuse Agency in Berkshire.
My clients are from many diverse backgrounds, cultures, nationalities, ages and religions. The reasons people come for counselling varies greatly, I help clients with depression, addictions, anxiety, self-harm, couples struggling with communication and connection in their relationships and many other issues. This has allowed me to have a wider and more open understanding of people and the world we live in.
I believe that we all have the inner answers to know what is best for us as unique individuals, a very Person-Centered perspective, however, I work quite integratively using Existential Therapy (A philosophy emphasizing the difficulties and isolation of existence) and CBT, or Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (Solution-Focused Therapy).
I also call on more creative approaches like Dream-work, Imagery, Art and Drama which can help those finding it hard to verbalise thoughts and feelings to unlock their ’hidden’ self.

’Talking’ is just one style of therapy, I also work with dreams, art, visualisations and writing for clients who find it more difficult to verbalise their problems.
Although I embrace the ’traditional’ style of counselling, my own personal experiences of therapy with the sympathetic nods and uncomfortable silences have led me to take a more dynamic and active role in the therapeutic relationship, I walk with you on your journey, step by step and tailor my style to each individual client.
If you are looking for a refreshingly different approach to therapy then get in contact today, it could be the start of the best journey you will ever go on
