Counselling Children
As a former primary school teacher and having worked with children in churches for many years, I have a special interest in helping children who are experiencing difficulty. Parents/Carers should be aware, however, that there are likely to be a variety of factors which will need to be considered when seeking to help children. Unlike adults they are not able to change or determine their environment, lifestyle, relationships etc. When seeking help for children parents/carers should be ready to consider that they may need to make changes for the benefit of the child and be ready to work with the counsellor and other professionals as necessary. I only work with children who have given their own informed consent and who’s parents/carers are willing to participate in the process while respecting their child’s right to speak confidentially to their counsellor.
