I specialise in psychotherapy with individuals that have communication difficulties, through the medium of art and images. Art psychotherapy is a nationally recognised post graduate qualification and is regulated by the HCPC. I hold sessions at the Bert Boyden Centre in Immingham.
In the last three years I have worked with the Alzheimer’s Society and Stroke Association delivering sessional group work. I have worked with Carers Centres, Women’s Aid, survivors of abuse and with individuals in their own home.
I am presently employed part-time by NE Lincolnshire Council as a Nurse Practitioner working with childre and their families when behavioural challenges.We specialise in hidden disabilities such as autism, dyspraxia, adhd and other neurological difficulties. We are piloting work to improve poor attachment.
I have worked for Selby and York PCT and have first hand experience of community and residential care of adults with learning disabilities. My ethos has always been to promote and support individuality, I am a follower of Jungian approaches and person centred care.
I can record artwork with audio supported reviews; AIRs based DVDs. This can provide qualitative outcome evidence and a resource to reinforce psychological learning.
I am a trained Person Centred Facilitator and NVQ assessor in health and social care and uphold high standards following the BAAT guidlines and recommendations.
As a direct result of my nursing experiences I hope to help as many clients maintain their independence at home and will consider outreach work if required.
My training, work experience and any achievement
- I hold a Masters degree accredited by Leeds Metropolitan University (2011).

I hold duel registration as a nurse and therapist. I have been working within the NHS and private services for 15 years. I am portable and can come to a place you find comfortable. I am presently searching for studio premises so please ask at your consultation.

I work with individuals experiencing problems with anxiety, trauma, transition, bereavement, behaviour change, autism, aspergers, dementia and I can assist in ascertaining wishes to support lifestyle planning.
I have provided individual and group art therapy to adults and children with mental health problems and learning disabilities. I have worked within a a memory group, CAMHS and the childrens community team for learning disabilities; all in Hull. I am presently placed at Brigg Carers Centre working with a group of carers from North East Lincolnshire.
