What Is TCM
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is an ancient system of healing. Illness is a sign of disharmony and a disruption in the flow of “Qi”, or the “vital energy” within the body. Qi consists of “Yin” and “Yang”. They are two opposites but complementary. These two forces need to be balanced, otherwise disease or illness occurs in the body. TCM aims to harmonize the flow of qi to restore health. Acupuncture, acupressure, herbalism, cupping, moxibustion, qigong, tuina and diet are different aspects of TCM.
What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is one of the methodologies to regulate the body energy (qi) flows. There are several acupuncture techniques:
(1) Invasive conventional technique has a deeper depth of the needles to elicit the qi, some patients may feel uncomfortable, such as conventional manipulation by twisting the needles or electro-acupuncture with electric stimulation.
(2) Micro-acupuncture technique is a superficial penetration of the needles which is a safer and less painful. Such as cosmetic acupuncture, ear acupuncture or abdominal acupuncture (Fu Zhen) which is invented by Dr. Zhiyun Bo in 1991.
(3) Non-invasive acupuncture means that there is no needles penetrated through the skin. It is a pain free technique. Laser is a common tool in non-invasive acupuncture which is particularly useful for treating children and people who are afraid of needle treatment.
Herbal Remedies
Chinese herbs have been used for centuries to treat specific ailments. Each herbal prescription of a decoction may have 6 to 20 substances which are considered as main herbs and some as ancillary herbs. Some ingredients are added in order to cancel out toxicity or side-effects of the main ingredients; on top of that, the prescription is tailored to an individual patient.
Chinese massage- tuina / Acupressure
Acupressure is a technique based on the same ideas as acupuncture. It involves placing physical pressure, by hand, elbow, or with the aid of various devices, on different pressure points on the surface of the body. It improves the circulation of blood and lymph flow, relief musculoskeletal problems, relief stress and other ailments.
Cupping
Cupping is an ancient therapy in which a local suction is created on the skin; it is to mobilize blood flow (qi flow) in order to promote healing. Suction is created by using heat (fire) or mechanical devices (hand or electrical pumps). Cupping is commonly used on stress relief, musculoskeletal conditions or respiratory problems. It can leave temporary bruised marks on the problematic areas.
Moxibustion
Moxibustion is considered as a treatment for chronic problems when diagnosed with "yang" deficiency. Practitioners usually burn the moxa stick over the acupoints to improve blood circulation and to regulate the balance. It is common in combination with acupuncture treatment

Customer Reviews
My daughter had struggled with ME for several years, it was heartbreaking to see her at what should have been the time of her life, she had been under the clinic, given antidepressants but nothing worked, a friend recommended Cynthia, I didn’t think it would work but thought ’why not’ . Now over a year later my daughter is feeling so much better and loves feeling normal again. Thank you Cynthia we owe you so much.
I have been seeing Cynthia for a number of years for different ailments from ibs menopause and my previous car accident with whip lass injury . I can honestly say that Cynthia has and still is to date my saviour , if I need a boost or am not quite feeling 100 percent then a few sessions with Cynthia and her needles and her expertise and knowledge of the body and mind then I’m back on track . I feel very blessed to have been introduced to such a wonderful lady more people should try this alternative source of medication rather than popping pills to treat the problem . I am so lucky to have Cynthia in my life and would like to say a very big THANK YOU
