Incredibly Easy and Healthy Ways to Relax
Most of us are pretty busy. Whether you are working from home or in an office, our daily-to-do lists can get overwhelming sometimes. And it seems that despite doing so much, there are still more that needs to be done.
But it is still not possible to relax in this busy world. Here are some healthy ways to stay relaxed:
Meditate.
When people think of meditation, they picture themselves sitting in a quiet place, legs crossed and eyes closed, and staying still for a long period of time. But it doesn’t always have to be this way. Meditation is something you can practise anytime, anywhere. It doesn’t always have to be long as well. Just five minutes of mindfulness can do a lot of wonder in calming down your mind and body. Focusing on your breath and staying in the ‘now’ are central to the practice.
Get organised.
A messy space spells chaos and stress. So you want to keep your working environment clean and organised all the time. Decluttering your space greatly improves your mood, which makes you more productive in the end. Invest on humidifier and oil essences too. A sweet-smelling space can do a long way in relaxing your mind and body.
Have some green tea.
If you’re like most busy professionals, you rely so much on coffee for your afternoon ‘pick-me-up’. But you can try to have drink tea instead. Not only does it have invigorating and calming smell, green tea also contains L-Theanine which has been known to reduce feelings of anger.
Give yourself a hand massage.
You don’t always need to go to a massage clinic to have some relaxation moment. Even right in your desk, you can benefit from the calming and relaxing benefit of massage. Simply rubbing your hand can already alleviate stress and calm you. For that ultimate relaxation, press one thumb between your other thumb and point finger. Apply lotion or calming essential oil like lavender.
Walk away.
Sometimes, walking away from the situation is the best approach to calm yourself down. Whenever you’re faced with a situation that gets your blood boiling and really overwhelmed, you want to immediately get away to what is causing your stress levels to skyrocket. When you’ve gotten more relaxed, you become more capable of collecting your thoughts and thinking of the best solution to your problems.
Work out.
Exercise is a great antidote to stress, anger, and other unwanted emotions. Working out regularly makes you absolutely feel better, less cramped, and more energetic. Spare at least 30 minutes working out every day and experience the difference!
