Best Foods for an Effective Workout
Exercise does not only help you lose weight. It also helps you stay healthy. But if you are exercising regularly, you want to make sure that you are feeding your body right. Here are some superfoods that aid help you make the most from your workout:

If you’re doing intense workouts, you want something that will refuel your body and recharge. So opt for foods that are rich in carbohydrate and protein. They refuel and help your muscles recover. In addition to the energising carbs, sweet potato also contains vitamin C and beta carotene that promote good health.
Oats
If you’re exercising, every meal is important. You shouldn’t skip meals, especially breakfast. Oat makes a good choice for breakfast as it is low in glycaemic index (GI) which provides a slow and steady release of energy throughout the day. It also has soluble fibre which facilitates metabolism and digestion.
Black Beans
Black beans are a great source of fibre and protein which keeps hunger at bay and at the same time, helps your muscles recover from intense workouts.
Quinoa
This gluten-free grain is a great alternative to white rice. And unlike other grains, quinoa is a ’complete protein’ which means it contains all the amino acid building blocks the body needs to make new proteins. And since it has mild nutty flavour, quinoa pairs well with meat or seafood.
Beef
Beef is a great choice if you want to beat that post-workout aching hunger. Go for the lean part and try adding fresh herbs and spices to it for a more delicious and healthy meal.

Fish, especially the fatty ones, are a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids that boost your health and make weight loss easier.
Banana
Who doesn’t love bananas? They are sweet and really filling. And when it comes to gearing up for workout, bananas are your best buddies. Whole-wheat toast with peanut butter and banana makes a perfect go-to meal during days when you’d have some intense workouts in the gym.
