Alarming Statistics of teenage binge drinking
The consequences of teenage binge drinking are no laughing matter. Consider the following grim statistics. Every year, there are more than 5000 reported deaths that are linked to binge drinking. The three top causes of teenage deaths where alcohol is the leading factor are car accidents, suicides, and homicides. In 2003, 31% of teenagers who died in a car accident were reportedly drunk or had been drinking. There are many instances where teenagers are sent to jail because of DWI, driving while intoxicated and most of the times these have led to the deaths of others. There are many people who lost someone because they have been hit by a car with a DWI teenager. Not only that, statistics also show that drinking has caused a lot of teenager to do violent things and 35% of adults with alcohol dependency developed symptoms by the age of 19.
Risks of teenage binge drinking
Not only that binge drinking has caused a lot of these grim statistics, binge drinking also has a lot of risks and one of the serious one is liver disease. Another set of statistic shows that the number of teens having to be treated with serious liver diseases had risen by more than 50 per cent. Last 2000 – 2001, there were 230 people who were admitted to the hospital in England for alcohol-related liver disease who were under thirty years of age. But by 2009, this figure has risen to 351 and this is still a small fraction of the 14,500 people aged 31 and up who were admitted for alcohol-related liver problems.

Along the years, there are many ways the world has made to make a stop of teenage binge drinking and to help teenagers who are victims to this.
